Council has today approved a total budget of Ugx39, 133,436,000 for FY2025/2026 compared to Ugx39, 717,204,000 for FY2024/2025.
While presenting the budget during council, Hon.Mukono Tom, the Secretary for Finance, Planning and Administration informed the Honourable members that the budget was broken into; Locally Raised Revenue of Ugx375,343,000/=,Discretionary Government Transfers of Ugx5,225,568,000/=,Conditional Grant Transfers of Ugx32,239,630,000,other government transfers of Ugx668,394,000 and external financing/donor funds of Ugx624,500,000.
He further explained that the total budget was appropriated as follows; wage recurrent revenue Ugx22,283,432,000 which is 56.9% of the budget, Non-Wage recurrent Ugx11,586,464,000 which is 29.6% of the budget and Development Revenue Ugx4,263,698,000 which is 10.9% of the budget respectively.
Hon.Ikendeza Humphrey then proposed that the budget for FY2025/2026 be approved and was seconded by Hon.Laaki Jackson.
The District Speaker, Hon.Mugoya Richard then appreciated all the Honourable members for their deliberations and for the successful approval of the budget.
