CAO Budaka has appealed to the Parish Chiefs to follow PDM guidelines while implementing the program.

The call was made today during a meeting with the Parish chiefs at the district headquarters.While making his remarks, Mr. Piwang Elly the Chief Administrative Officer Budaka, informed them that the meeting was called for to address issues of accountability in line with the Parish Development Committees allowances of UGX250, 000 sent on quarterly basis to their accounts.Mr.Piwang also demanded for reports and minutes from the parish chiefs in regards to the previous quarter funds that were sent to their accounts.He further urged them to display all lists of beneficiaries at the LLG headquarters for transparency and to curb issues of duplication by the community members.He added that the district is working closely with the Ministry of ICT to have trainers on ground to train the district PDM team, CDO’s and parish chiefs on the Parish Development Management Information-Financial Inclusion System to enable disbursement of funds to other SACCO’s left.CAO also informed the meeting that Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development sent additional UGX 25M to the different SACCO accountants.He concluded his remarks by tasking the Parish Chiefs to be on their job and not absentee themselves aware that a number of government activities are being implemented.Mr.Dambya Ambrose , the District Production Officer, emphasized the issue of PDC’s allowances for the 02 quarters that was sent to parish chiefs to cater for 02 PDC’s review meetings and monitoring of the PDM activities of beneficiaries to ascertain whether the money has been put to proper use.Mr.Okot Bitek,DISO Budaka warned the parish chiefs against being enemies of the state aware that government pays them for the work they do.The RDC Budaka, Mr.Magunda George in his closing remarks, stressed the issue of timely submission of reports to CAO and shared to his office respectively.He also noted the urgency of displaying of lists of beneficiaries who received the funds and those who did not as well. He encouraged the parish chiefs to attach photos of beneficiaries and the enterprises they are doing.
