District Stakeholders this evening during a site handover for the construction of a ward Phase 1 at Budaka HCIV.Speaking during the meeting, the project manager, Mr. Mugweri Charles informed members that the facility design will comprise of an emergency section for accident victims, police unit, and ground floor for the administration offices, ultra sound section, and theatre among others.He added that the construction will be done in a phased manner due to the limited resource envelope.He further informed the meeting that the contract sum is UGX158, 290, 923 for phase 1 under the EU-DDEG funding.He added that the contract commenced on 20th March 2024 and ending by 30th June 2024.He also noted that the works so far are at 50% complete for phase 1.Mr. Magunda George, the RDC expressed fear towards the construction works which may involve so many phases amidst unreliable funds.While making her remarks, Ms. Akiror Jane, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer called upon the project manager to always ensure that the management of the health facility are part of the site meetings.She also appreciated Government for the resources which have enabled Budaka HCIV get an additional structure to cater for the big population that it serves.The Vice Chairperson, Hon. Mukono Tom thanked the contractor for engaging the local people in the construction work. He further appreciated him for speeding up with the construction works.
