Uganda Red Cross to rescue communities of Naboa

Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) has today disseminated the cash feasibility Assessment Report for Naboa Town Council to the District Disaster Management Committee in the District Boardroom.This follows the recent floods that occurred in the months of March and April in several villages of Nangeye II, Namwamba, Kakoli I, Namajja I and Namajja II in Naboa TC.While addressing the stakeholders during the meeting, Mr. Prize Tayebwa, the Manager Red Cross informed the meeting that the cash feasibility Assessment was done in Naboa to ascertain the level of the Disaster and also ensure how best to support the communities with the available resources.He tasked the District to always alert and report to them disasters as they occur for timely response.He further explained that the Emergency response protocol have to produce a report in 06 hours and a detailed assessment report in 72hours from the time the disaster occurred.Ms. Akiror Jane, the Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Committee, thanked the Office of the Prime Minister for supporting the 13Households that were affected by the fire outbreak in Kameruka Subcounty.She also appreciated Uganda Red Cross Society for coming on board to rescue the community of Naboa.Ms.Akiror then called for team work from all stakeholders in order to ensure that communities are accorded the necessary support needed.
