Stakeholders appreciate the construction progress at Kakule seed school.

The construction works were witnessed this afternoon during the site inspection conducted by both the District and subcounty stakeholders during the site meeting.According to the Project Manager,Mr.Dida Sam ,he appreciated Akol holdings LTD for the work so far done and urged him to expedite the process.He informed members that the progress of the work stands at 18% compared to the previous time they visited the site.Mr. Dida informed the meeting that the total contract sum is UGX2, 340,688,000, with the contract running for 02 years.He added that the project which commenced on 31 June 2024 is expected to be complete by 31 June 2026.He further explained that the scope of works will contain construction of a 03 classroom block, science laboratory, administration block,ICT library, multipurpose hall,02 staff houses, VIP toilets ,sports field and the external works.Speaking to members during the site meeting, the contractor Akol holdings LTD appreciated all the stakeholders for the team work and the conducive working environment accorded to them at the site.He told members that they have completed the substructure and hoped to finalise with casting of the slab concrete by the end of this week. He also assured members that they will be roofing the structures by April..He however, noted that they are faced with the challenge of delayed performance bond guarantee by the bank though promised to have all works complete earlier than the completion date.Akol holdings LTD called for team work from all stakeholders to enable them execute their work within the set time.Mr. Higenyi Paul, who doubles as the contract manager and the District Education Officer Budaka, encouraged the community to own the project.He expressed his gratitude towards the donor of the land for such a big heart.The Principal Assistant Secretary, Mr. Mugombe Yusuf who represented CAO in the meeting, assured the contractor about the availability of the funds to pay him as soon as work is complete as per the different phases.He also asked the contractor to expedite the construction works. Mr. Mugombe also appreciated the contractor for the progress and tasked him to add more efforts.RDC then appreciated government for supporting Budaka particularly Kakule subcounty with a seed school.
