District Stakeholders during the District Roads Committee meeting.

District Stakeholders during the District Roads Committee meeting today held in the District Boardroom.While giving his remarks, the Chairperson District Roads Committee Mr. Pajje Emmanuel called upon the District Engineering team to address the gaps identified by the DRC members that comprised of; shaping the raised Nakiwolomboga swamp section, provision of the drainage channel and installation of culverts along Tuuti-Nansanga HCIII -Nakiwolomboga road and Idudi Mosque-Kibalika-Suni road respectively.Mr. Pajje also expressed concern about some community activities like sand mining, rice growing and brick making that have negatively impacted on the road construction works in the district.He cited some of the Lower Local Governments of Kaderuna, Kabuna, kachomo and kamonkoli as some of the affected places where people have dug up to the edges of the road.Mr.Pajje further advised the Project Managers to clear those gardens in order to enable free water flow.He also alluded to the issue of sino trucks that have exerted immense pressure on the district roads beyond what the roads are designed to contain henceforth damaging them. He promised to address the issue together with security team and as well write to the UNRA station manager works to have the matter resolved.He urged the Engineering team to see how to manage the subcounty access roads too.He thanked the members for the team work exhibited in ensuring that all entities benefit from the road equipment.The Member of Parliament for Budaka Constituency, Hon. Mboizi Arthur tasked the Engineering department to ensure that they address issues of unclear outlets to culvert lines which have caused obstruction of the water flow, narrow road sections at culvert crossings and missing off shoots in some critical areas which have time and again been appeared in the DRC report.Hon. Mboizi also asked the Senior Environment Officer to always plant trees along the road works for environmental preservation.He also emphasised to the district leadership to give Budaka Town Council some face lift in order to provide a good image to the district. Hon. Mboizi concluded his remarks by asking the Engineering department improve on the way of supervision of works especially of contractors procured at the centre for successful implementation of projects.
