The meeting is intended to address a number of issues pertaining disbursement of PDM Parish Revolving Funds to beneficiaries, Extortion of funds by SACCO leaders and technical staffs in LLGs, extra charges imposed by Wendi Agents on the beneficiaries during disbursement of funds and some parish chiefs not paying the Parish Development Committee members their allowances among others.While presenting the status report to members, Mr. Kabise Shaban, the District Focal person PDM said that the district through Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MOFPED) has cumulatively received a total of UGX19, 637,000,000 through direct Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from Bank of Uganda to the respective 76 PDM SACCO accounts.He noted poultry as the leading enterprise invested in by beneficiaries with a total of 8,827 beneficiaries and fish enterprise as the worst comprising of 16 beneficiaries respectively.He added that the overall goal of PDM is to convert the enterprise group beneficiaries into the money economy and financial inclusion through forward and backward linkages among the identified value chains for 39% subsistence households.Among the stakeholders invited in the meeting include the subcounty chiefs/Town Clerks,LCII Chairpersons, PDM SACCO chairpersons, Parish Chiefs/Town Agents, Community Development Officers and extension workers.
